From 1st October 2018 The Schoolhouse Surgery is offering appointments under the Improved Access Scheme. Some appointments are available. Please contact the surgery for further information or click on this link

Please note - in line with updated guidelines - please allow up to 72 hours for repeat prescriptions to be processed. We will always endeavour to process prescriptions in a timely manner.

Please do not request prescriptions earlier than 10 days before the repeat is due as these will not be processed and may be rejected unless a valid reason is given


Maureen Murphy

Practice Nurse - SRN SCM AMC - CHD CERT. ENB 998

Maureen trained as a nurse in the 1970s and qualified as a midwife in 1979. She spent many years as a midwife and joined The Schoolhouse Surgery in 1990. She has gained post-graduate diplomas in diabetes, respiratory and coronary disease management. Maureen also delivers travel health, minor surgery, womens' health and general nursing duties.

Heather Ridley (f)

Heather joined the practice in October 2016. She qualified as a general nurse in 1987 and as a children's nurse in 1992 , working in paediatrics and latterly in various community settings, including district nursing. Heather has a keen interest in wound care and leg ulcer management and whilst working part time at the practice, will be delivering the childhood immunisations, aswell as providing other practice nurse clinics.

Alison is our HCA and provides a range of essential services to our patients including phlebotomy, health checks, spirometry, ECGs, diabetic foot checks, smoking cessation.
